I started dating in July 2013, and since then I’ve dated 25 men. Most were first dates only, some went to dates #2 & 3, and one lucky winner I dated for 6 whole weeks!
You’re probably wondering what the issue is, and why I’m so picky. Maybe you’re thinking the problem is me. While I freely admit to my own baggage and issues, let me break down the realities of dating post 40.
I find there are 4 basic groups of people who are single after age 40.
1. People who have never had a long term relationship. I don’t even…what? I’m not here to teach you how to relationship, bro.
2. People who have tons of emotional baggage or aren’t over their divorce yet, or baby momma drahma.
3. People with young kids. Seriously, having a baby at age 38 isn’t attractive
4. Normal, well adjusted people – I fall in this category of course!
So, since the available dating pool is already smaller after 40, and I’m willfully excluding 75% of those………
I tend to go on a lot of first dates.
